WINE COUNTRY:

The Lompoc Valley is home to 12 of the great wineries in Santa Barbara County and now has its own designation of Santa Rita Hills. Many Central Coast Tasting Rooms can be visited within a few minutes drive east of The O’Cairns Inn.The Wine Ghetto tasting room is also located ½ mi. east at the entrance of town.

LOMPOC, CA GOLF:

Lompoc is home to several well known Golf Courses: La Purisima Golf Course is 5 miles to the east and is one of California’s outstanding Courses. It has hosted 2 LPGA Tournaments. The Village Country Club is 10 miles north and is a private club that offers reciprocal play. It’s a hidden Gem. Marshalia Ranch Golf Course is part of Vandenberg Air Force Base and is open to the Public. This course is one of the top rated courses in the Air Force. It is a very scenic, but challenging course, with Ocean Views and is located 15miles north of The O’Cairns Inn.

CALIFORNIA HISTORIC MISSION:

La Purisima Mission State Historic Park, is the largest of all the California Missions (1000 acres of jogging and horse back riding trails) It is a State Park and well worth the Admission price of $ 5.00 to visit. It features LIVE MISSION DAYS 1 weekend each month

FLOWER FIELDS:

Lompoc is known as the Valley of the Flowers, however most flowers are grown for seed production and only bloom for a few month each year, usually from May through July. However a few acres of flowers are grown year round for cut flower producers. The last weekend in June Lompoc has its Flower Festival, with Parade and floats , the festival lasts from Wed. through Sun. with carnival and all kinds of entertainement

BEACHES:

Lompoc’s Surf Beach is @ 5mi west on Ocean Ave. with a white sandy Beach, however access is restricted several month each year for Snowy Plover nesting season.

Jalama Beach is @ ½ hour drive south on Hwy 1, through scenic hills, then stop to have a ‘Jalama Burger’ right at the little snack shop at the beach and watch the scenic beauty.
